Balloon Ascensions Unlimited offers a balloon pilot training program that includes ground school and flight school for both private and commercial licenses, with classroom facilities, FAA certified balloons and experienced instructors. Ballooning is a form of flying and therefore falls under the direction and control of the Federal Aviation Administration. Balloons are aircraft and those who fly them are required to hold current FAA licenses. For those interested in getting started in ballooning, it is important to select an instructor and flight school well-qualified to provide the training necessary to attain a lighter-than-air, hot air balloon pilot’s rating.
